The Freeplay Jonta is the last flashlight you will ever buy! Using state of the art LED technology, and independent of replaceable batteries and external power sources, the Jonta is built for reliability and dependability.

The Jonta features a wind-up mechanism that is one of the world’s most efficient human energy converter. The winder can be cranked in either directions and the harder you crank, the more energy you create. A crank level LED indicates the optimum winding speed, but the only limitation to how much energy you can create and store is you.

The Freeplay Jonta LED flashlight is equipped with an AC/DC power in facility that allows you to charge the flashlight and run it from wall power for added convenience. A 4 hour charge fully charges the Jonta.

The Jonta drives a microprocessor controlled 1-Watt super bright white LED. A choice between “energy saving” and “full power” allows the user to choose shine time over light performance. A third light setting offers a flashing beam that is excellent for emergency signaling. The excellent beam quality from the Jonta maintains focus at over 50 yards.

The 1-Watt super bright LED has a useful life of up to 100,000 hours and burns as brightly as a powerful incandescent bulb at a fraction of the power.

Depressing the switch for 2 seconds displays battery charge level. A warning light flashes when the battery voltage is very low.

Q. Is the Jonta waterproof?
A. No. It is not waterproof, but it is splashproof and will work in rainy conditions.

Q. How long should my Jonta shine for?
A. With a fully charged battery the Jonta will shine for approximately 24 hours on normal beam ( Energy Saving) and 2 ? hours on high beam. A 30 second wind will provide about 10 minutes of shine time on normal beam.

Q. What is the indicator light?
A. The indicator light is an optimum charge level indicator. This means that it will only illuminate when you are winding the handle at the ideal speed, to generate the ideal amount of energy. The charge level indicator was designed specifically for the winding function of the winder handle.

Q. How long will it take to fully charge the Jonta?
A. It will take approximately 12 hours to fully charge the internal battery using the adaptor provided. As a guide, a constant input effort of 40 minutes into the winder crank, using the optimum charge level indicator, will fully charge the battery.

Q. Does the battery require a conditioning charge before the first use?
A. Yes, for best results, the torch's internal battery requires a conditioning charge for 24 hours prior to use. The torch can, however, be used immediately in the wind-up mode if required.

Q. Can I over-wind the unit - does it ever stop you from winding?
A. No, you cannot over-wind the internal mechanism. It consists of simple gearing which drives the alternator, providing power to the internal battery.

Q. Will I damage the flashlight if I crank the handle in the opposite direction?
A. No, the winder handle can be cranked in both directions.

Q. What is the life span of the internal battery?
A. The internal battery is good for 500 cycles when fully charging the battery and 10 000 cycles when using the winder mechanism for 30 seconds.

Q. How long should the bulbs last for?
A. The Jonta uses a solid-state LED that will shine for 100 000 hours and never requires Replacement.
