Voltaic Systems is a cutting edge
manufacturer of backpacks and messenger bags faced with Polyvoltaic solar
panels which can charge things such as cell phones, PDAs and now laptops.
Their bags aren’t expensive and are
made of fabric made from recyclable PET, i.e. soda bottles. Working extensively
with suppliers, Voltaic Systems has developed a new type of fabric, previously
unavailable. This fabric is lightweight, durable, and UV and water resistant.
It looks more stylish than the nylon it replaced, and requires much less energy
to produce.
